After the close race resulting in SG’s first defeat with Clan Bankai, a rematch was successfully organized today. The war currently has no set roster, but [SG]Guru is requiring only SHADOW Division ranked members of SG to join.
The date of the war is set to be on Sunday, June 15.

I asked Jaap, who had to go after the first GP, why SG may have lost.

Jaap: “I need to admit that cB is skilled, but some people got pretty unlucky in the first round. Well, there was also nothing to do about it, I also think that our teamwork didn’t well out good that time, its MKWii yeah, without items it would be less fun.”

I also believe that team work deteriorated quite a bit throughout. Also, one of our best players, Jaap, had to go, due to one of the cB members having problems with their connection, which delayed the war by approximently 1 hour.

All at SG would like to congratulate cB for an incredibly close match and a well earned victory. Congratulations!

The Team Tournament Kicks Off!

THE FIRST EVER SHADOW GEAR TEAM TOURNAMENT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

8 superb Shadow Gear Clan members are finally going to go into teams of 2 and race against other pairs in the first ever SG Team Tournament.

Tonight, all 8 players will be playing 2 Grand Prixs to rack up the most points in an attempt to reach the final where the remaining 2 pairs will face off for the crown. (Oh wait, I mean Crown-s!) The pairs/teams look like this:

 Pair 1:
1. Jaap
2. Try2KepUp

Pair 2:
3. Spinout
4. Viewty

Pair 3:
5. Kipp
6. Rumpaneter

Pair 4:
7. Guru
8. Saucy

8 incredible racers. Its going to be a close one. But the question is quite simple. Who will win? We’ll have to wait and see! The rules are the same as any regular Mario Kart game, but alot more tactics are involved. For example: Will people use blue shells to hit their partner to try and get more points, or to get more weapons? Oh – yes I forgot to mention. All grand prixs will just be regular grand prixs, not team ones. Yes, that does mean friendly fire is involved.

Results will be announced via the forum after they have been reported.

[SG] victorious against [TP]

[SG], having recently won against the [WOA] clan, had little time to rest for the match against [TP] just a few days later. The challenge was issued by [SG]’s member AAAvision, and the date was set for thursday, June 5th, at 4 o’ clock EST. Once again it was decided to use the Shadowgear B team, but would they pull through with a win yet again?

The war against [TP] was set to be a 6 vs. 6, 2 GP match. Once again [SG] decided to use it’s B team, in order to get more clan members to participate. After taking time to consider members to go to war, it was decided that the participants of this match would be:

  • Zakoru (Captain)
  • Corey
  • Fanred
  • Myself
  • Jonn
  • RoVeR

The new members were raring and ready to go, excited, and some of them somewhat nervous about the upcoming war. On the day of the war, as usual, the chat room was in an uproar, everyone looking forward to the war about to start. As I arrived on the scene, I noticed some of the racers were still absent, most notably Zakoru. Apparently Zakoru had entered before I did, but left due to router problems. So at the time, the only members there were myself and RoVeR. Guru, noticing this, decided we needed subs quickly. But unfortunately, since both AAAvision and Spinout were missing, subs were picked from chat members. After some website issues, Guru managed to enter the [TP] chatroom, where he discussed the situation with [TP]. Since Zakoru was missing, Guru became the new leader and was chosen to host the match. At the last minute Zakoru showed up, but since guru already had the [TP] members registered, Guru remained captain. In the end, the new team was composed of…

  • Guru (New captain)
  • RoVeR
  • Rayl
  • Myself
  • Zakoru
  • ColR64

Once the group was finally gathered, the standard war room business happened. Courses were picked, encouragement given, and strategies planned. Guru finally opened the room, and members from both sides slowly started to pour in. Once everyone had arrived, the match was started. Unfortunately, shortly into the first course, Zak, Rayl and I were all disconnected from the match, leaving Guru, ColR64 and RoVeR to fend for themselves against [TP]. Once the second GP started, all members rejoined excluding Zak, who was replaced by Tarantox. The second gp suffered one disconnect on the [TP] side, but besides that was much better off than the first.

Afterwards, [SG] members were worried that we lost, considering we were three people short in the first GP. But, as it turns out, Guru and RoVeR managed to keep a strong hold on the higher positions. It was a different case in the second GP though, first and second were instead taken by Tarantox and I, and although [SG]’s members did tend to hit each other quite a bit with items, they managed to pull off a win in the end. Final scores were totaled by Guru.

First GP:

SG-guru 47
TP-speed 34
SG-rovor 34
TP-douche bag 33
TP-cj 25
SG-colr64 14
TP-span 14
TP-luke 9

First round Result: SG-95 v TP-115

Second GP:

SG-kipp 54
SG-tarx 42
TP-span 34
SG-rayl 26
TP-speed 25
TP-douche bag 24
SG-colr64 21
SG-guru 16
TP-cj 14
TP-luke 9
SG-rovor 6

Second Round Result: SG-165 v TP-106

The final result came out as SG-260 v TP-221, giving Shadowgear team B their second victory by 39 points. For now, [SG] remains an undefeated clan full of exceptional members. Although, as noted by [TP]’s member span, [SG] did use two of it’s team A members, something to be wary of in future matches.

Mario Super Sluggers Controls Trailer Launches (Japanese)

The next title in the Mario Baseball franchise comes to Wii. It is called Mario Super Sluggers and looks very interesting. There’s been no word on Wi-Fi, but let’s sure hope there is. I can picture all of the SG guys getting together to play some ball.
